Established in 2009, XBRL Europe aims to foster XBRL efforts and initiatives across Europe by coordinating joint projects among its members and engaging with European authorities and organisations.
To support collaboration, XBRL Europe has created dedicated Working Groups and Task Forces, where members convene regularly, either via conference calls or in person, to share expertise and drive progress.
XBRL Europe is registered as an International Non-Profit Association – AISBL/IVZW (Association Internationale sans But Lucratif, Internationale Vereniging Zonder Winstoogmerk) under the Belgian 2019 Code for Companies and Associations. The governance of XBRL Europe is defined by its bylaws, which were revised and duly registered for the last time in 2025.
